Dynamic Island for Authentication
Apple's iPhone keeps the dynamic islands afloat. As designers, how can we make waves for a better user experience?
Every device gives users a different unique experiences. Figuring out our users' favorites can give our app that extra oomph! Lately, Apples have come up with something called 'Dynamic Islands' in their many updates. And guess what? Other operating systems are jumping on the bandwagon too!
In this quick exploration, I'm gonna show you how dynamic islands can make it a breeze for users to deal with authentication in our app.
Introduction
Think of dynamic islands as your trusty sidekicks during the authentication journey. So, when a user messes up their login, these islands pop in like superheroes, dishing out tips, tricks, and a shortcut to reset their password. It's like having a buddy in your corner, making sure you breeze through authentication without a hitch.
Attempts
We showcase the remaining attempts on the dynamic island. Much like playing a game, this will prompt users to keep track of their available attempts. Rather than simply presenting numbers, how about we help users visualize these attempts as their remaining lives?
The user's visual life depletes with each authentication error, prompting them to be more cautious and committed to remembering their PIN. This encourages them to opt for self-reliance rather than resorting to the help option provided at the beginning.
Final Relief Attempt
Since users shrugged off our initial helping hand and kept stumbling in the digital jungle, we thought, "Why not give 'em a little nudge without raining on their parade?" So, we offered another dose of help right before the big finish. But this time, we're not being subtle; we're going, "Hey, this is it, last call!" It's like a friendly reminder to lock in that PIN like it's your best buddy's birthday-you can't afford to forget it!
Dynamic islands have been replaced by sturdy modal pop-ups, as this is their final attempt.
Success and Final State
After the user successfully authenticates with their PIN, we bring back the dynamic island with a new look, the text turns green, and if you've been keeping an eye on it, you'll notice the life counter is full once more. It's like a digital high-five that's sure to bring a smile to users' faces, giving them a lift after their epic PIN quest.
In conclusion, dynamic islands could offer an exciting avenue for enhancing the user experience during the authentication process. Incorporating dynamic islands into your app's journey can truly make waves in improving user engagement and overall satisfaction.
